The 3 Keys to a Successful Salon

Have you ever wondered why some Salons are more successful than others?

They have a system for acquiring and keeping clients for life. When I ask Salon owner's their most important aspect of their business, 97.3% say... hair styling, doing nails or something technical they do on a daily basis.

Truth be known, the "Doings" of the business is important but "NOT" as important as attracting new clients and taking care of the ones you already have. When I started my business I fell into the same trap and almost went bankrupt.

I had a very intelligent business man once tell me...

"It doesn't matter how good you are at what you do, if you can't attract customers on a consistent basis cost effectively you'll soon be out of business."

You cannot run a successful business without a steady stream of new and existing clients. This was an eye opener for me and many other small business owners.

The 3 keys to building a strong Salon...

  1. Having a marketing plan that stands out from all your competitors. Let's face it we have to attract new clients each and every day. If you're marketing your Salon the same old boring way every other salon does, then why should anyone choose you over them? - It's all about your "Marketing." Having the right message to the right market through the right media will completely change the way your Salon attracts clients. This will give you a huge competitive advantage over every other Salon.
  2. I see Salon owners who spend thousands of dollars a month to attract new clients and then forget to follow up. The key to building a vibrant successful business is the "client list." Once you invest marketing money to attract a client, why not make them feel so special they'll tell family and friends. This will give you FREE referrals. This is the easiest way to acquire "New" clients cost effectively. Most Salon owners treat their clients like ATM machine, only paying attention to their clients needs when they're willing to spend money. This is a "Huge" mistake you cannot make. The Salon Owner, who fills the needs of their client's, will prosper. Those who do not will struggle and possibly go bankrupt in our slumping economy.
  3. The third and final key is having "systems" in place to acquire new clients, keep in touch with old clients, and run the day to day operations. This will allow you to have more freedom to go-do and have whatever you choose. Your Salon should work for you, not you for it.
